We have created this Notice to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy. We do not collect personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you knowingly choose to provide such information to us.

Providing such information is strictly voluntary. We use all reasonable efforts to protect the confidentiality of your personal information.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

The Women’s Center of Beaver County is committed to protecting the privacy of those who use this website, www.womenscenterbc.org. We do not collect any identifying information about you except for items you specifically and knowingly provide. You may be asked to provide some personal information such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number when you make a donation, register to attend an event or training, or email us through our contact form.

How We Process Your Payment Information

We may collect data necessary to process your donation or purchase of event tickets such as your credit card number, and the security code associated with your credit card number. The Women’s Center uses third-party affiliates, to collect and process donations and payments. To make this possible, your name, billing address, and donation amount are shared via secure (encrypted) means with this third-party payment processor for the sole purpose of completing your donation. The Women’s Center of Beaver County does not retain or see full credit card information. It is important to review the privacy Notice of the third-party affiliate and credit card processor prior to providing this information to see if their privacy Notice is acceptable to you. Although all donated funds are transmitted back to the Women’s Center, the terms of processing your donation will be based on the agreement between you and such designated payment service provider and not an agreement between you and the Women’s Center of Beaver County.

Finally, although the Women’s Center has implemented reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes.

Sending Us an Email

You also may decide to send up personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a Web form, that provides us this information. We use personally identifying information from email primarily to respond to your requests. We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer your questions. We may also use your email to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest.

We want to be very clear: We will not obtain personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary. Except as might be required by law, we do not share any information we receive with any outside parties.

If you sign up for one of our email lists, we will only send you the kinds of information you have requested. We will not share your name or email address with any outside parties.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act – COPPA

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services mustdo to protect children’s safety online. If a child under the age of 13 emails us, we do not retain their email address in any retrievable form.

Consent and Release of Personal Information

We will not share your personal information without a written, informed, and time-limited consent to release of information except when the law requires it, such as in the case of mandated reporting or to prevent death or substantial bodily harm.

How We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

This site does not use cookies to save personally identifiable information. Cookies might be used for display and experience in a fashion that does not include identity details. 

Links to Other Websites

Our site includes links to other websites. The fact that we link to a website is not an endorsement, authorization, or representation of an affiliation with that third party, nor is it an endorsement of that third party’s privacy notice or security practices. Further, we do not exercise control over third party websites. Theseother websites have their own Privacy Notice and may place their own cookies on your computer, collect data, or solicit personal information about you. We encourage you to read the privacy notices of all such websites as their notice may be materially different from the Women’s Center of Beaver County’s notice.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information from any further processing until deletion is possible.

How Do We Keep Your Information Safe

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process such as specific Multi Factor Authorization to access our network. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our network is at your own risk.

Control of Do Not Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do Not Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT browser signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.

How We Make Updates to this Privacy Notice

We may update this privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an update “Revised” date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. We encourage you to review this privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
